About Us

Montgomery Nursery School was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1967.  We received our charter by the State of New York in 1968.

All school business and administration is accomplished through the Board of Directors.  The board members are volunteers who donate many hours of personal time for the betterment of the school.

Our staff are highly trained, experienced and dedicated to our students.

Montgomery Nursery School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin.  We hold an annual Open House every February and encourage all to attend.

Philosophy

We believe that each child is a unique individual. We are sensitive to each child’s social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs. We provide a hands-on curriculum supported by a physical environment that is safe, comfortable and stimulating.

Montgomery Nursery School admits students of any race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, while providing all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies and admission policies.

History

Montgomery Nursery School was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1967. We received our charter from the State of New York in 1968. For over thirty-five years, our Nursery School has continued to enhance children’s educational development while providing a positive, fun environment that will build a strong foundation for future growth and success.

The Board of Directors conducts the general business of the school, establishes school policies, evaluates school programs, acts on the recommendations of the staff and is involved in all aspects of the school. The Board members are volunteers who donate many hours of personal time for the betterment of the school. (Parents who would like to volunteer their time for fundraising are encouraged to contact a Board member or your child’s teacher.)

In 2002, our school expanded by adding classrooms in the Presbyterian Church on Clinton Street (located across the street from our school). All of our three-year-old and Mommy and Me classes are held in the “Annex” classrooms.

Our school had been a collaborative agency for Valley Central School District for the Universal Pre-K program since UPK inception in VCSD 2008-2009 school year.
